Nancy Hünger, born 1981 in Weimar, studied Free Art at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, thereafter devoting herself entirely to literature. She lives and works as a freelance writer in Gotha. In Autumn 2008 she received a Hermann Lenz Fellowship and in 2012 the Düren Promotional Fellowship for Poetry. In 2011 she was the official writer in residence of the city of Jena and in 2013 a Fellow of the Künstlerhaus Edenkoben. In 2014 Nancy Hünger was awarded the Caroline Schlegel Promotional Prize of the City of Jena for an essay on the story Alte Abdeckerei by Wolfgang Hilbig, and in 2015 the Harald Gerlach Thuringian Literature Fellowship. Her most recent collection is Ein wenig Musik zum Abschied wäre trotzdem nett (Edition Azur, 2017).
