Levin Westermann, Germany

(c) Bettina Wohlfender

Levin Westermann was born in 1980 in Meerbusch, lives and works as a freelance writer in Biel/Bienne and studied at the Berne University of the Arts. In his latest collection of poems, his third, bezüglich der schatten (2019), Westermann writes almost soberly about mourning and angels stuffing themselves full of dust. He calmly conjures a world of poetry that is bare and permeated with quotations. Levin Westermann has been awarded various prizes and fellowships for his work. Most recently he was 2019 Writer in Residence in the German House of New York University.
