Martine Audet, born 1961 in Montréal, has published a dozen books of poems since 1996, mainly with Le Noroît and Hexagone. She has several times been a finalist for the Governor-General’s Award and has received the Alain Grandbois Prize and the Estuaire Prize. In her latest collection La Société des cendres (Le Noroît 2019) the poetic ego often moves between recognisable categories, seeking solitude between light and darkness, between up and down, between day and night. Since 2015 Audet has been a member of the Académie des lettres du Québec.
