Victoria Lorini, born in 1969, lives and works as a translator in Rome. She studied Art History, Romance Studies and Classical Archaeology in Frankfurt am Main and Estruscology in Florence. Since 1997 she has been working on the new German translation of Giorgio Vasari’s Lives with the editors of the edition headed by Alessandro Nova and also works as a freelance translator of academic and literary texts from English and Italian. She was awarded the German-Italian Translators’ Prize in 2017 for her translation of the Lives.
