Zafer Şenocak

Zafer Şenocak, born 1961 in Ankara, Turkey, grew up in Istanbul and Munich and has lived in Berlin since 1989. He writes poetry, essays, novels and stories in German and Turkish. Thematic threads in his work are cultural cracks, the work of preserving memory and fragmented identities. Şenocak’s books have also been published in French, English, Spanish, Italian, Czech and Turkish translation. Since 1996 he has been a guest professor and Writer-in-Residence at many universities in the USA. His most recent books include the essay Das Fremde, das in jedem wohnt (Edition Körber, 2018).
