Dean Ruddock, born 1992 in Paderborn, started as a musician but via Poetry Slam became a film maker, event organiser, editor, poet and workshop leader. Since late 2015 he has been giving workshops together with the poet Fatima Moumouni which are critical of racism with a focus on language, for institutes such as the Pedagogical Institute of Munich and the Zurich Anti-Racist Humour Festival. Most recently, Ruddock won the audience prize in the NRW Competition of the 2016 ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival for his poetry film Vögel auf Stromleitungen. Ruddock now lives in Weimar, where he is studying Media Art at the Bauhaus University.
