Judith Zander, born 1980 in Anklam. Studied German, English and Mediaeval and Modern History in Greifswald, then at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. She lives and works as a freelance writer in Jüterbog and Berlin. Her first novel, Dinge, die wir heute sagten, was published in 2010, followed in 2011 and 2014 by the poetry collections oder tau and manualnumerale (dtv). She also works occasionally as a translator, her translations including The Colossus and Crossing the Water by American poet Sylvia Plath for Suhrkamp and luxbooks (2013). In Autumn 2017 her translation of The Living Mountain by the Scottish writer Nan Shepherd was published by Matthes & Seitz.
