Grilli Pollheimer, Austria

The Austrian Grilli Pollheimer, born 1985, grew up with jazz but also with traditional and Classical music. He devoted himself entirely to percussion instruments and studied Classical Percussion Instruments in Graz. In the various ensembles and orchestras (Studio percussion Graz, Ensemble Reconsil, Vereinigte Bühnen Graz, Wiener Jeunesse) in which he plays he seeks out new forms of expression in jazz and World Music. He deepened his interest in Oriental music on journeys to India, Israel and Iran. Grilli Pollheimer has appeared at many international jazz festivals and in 2013 founded with Patrick Dunst the formation Tribal Dialects, with which he has toured in Europe and India.
