Dilek Mayatürk, born 1986 in Istanbul, studied Sociology in her home city and in Klagenfurt. As a documentary film maker and producer she has worked among others for IZ TV and the BBC. Her first book of poetry Cesaret Koleksiyonu (“Gathering of Courage”) was published in 2014. She has received many awards in Turkey for her poems. Her second book of poems entitled Brache/Nadas is due to appear in September 2020 in German and Turkish from Hanser Berlin press. Mayatürk lives and works in Berlin.
